  • Anti-Biting Muzzles for Boston Terriers (or other short snouted dogs)?

Unfortunately I have a Boston Terrier that tends to snap at people he doesn't know...it's very frustrating because I would love to take him for longer walks...but am too afraid. I tried a muzzle that I bought from PetSmart yesterday, but his snout was too short...he had it off in less than 10 secs. I'm at a loss...he's a very loving dog toward the family..but extremely territorial I think...I don't really know. Are there any special muzzles out there for these dogs? Thanks

  • Zoloft and weight gain?

Have any one had significant weight gain from taking Zoloft? If so, do you think it was the medication by itself, or a change in eating habits?

    Thanks

  • Should I confront him, or move on?

I've been dating this man for 5 months. He takes frequent weekend trips out of town... When he's away, he's horrible about calling me. When home, he always calls. I'm just about convinced he's either married, or at least involved. He decided to spend Thanksgiving with "friends" out of town... He called when his plane landed, but never called Thanksgiving night, or since (only 3 brief text messages). This is my first Thanksgiving without my Mom (he's aware), and it has been hard. It would have been nice to have him around, or least to talk to on the phone.

I would love for the relationship to go somewhere (lots in common....mostly good times), but am realizing it most likely will not. Should I ask why him what's up? Or, just move on... (I'm leaning towards just moving on...but part of me wants to know what the deal is)... I have a date with someone new next weekend!

Anyone familiar with this situation? What did you do?

  • Leaving for a new job question?

    Hi,

I'm starting a new job next week. I think I made a big mistake about telling my current employer the name of my new company....

I have built several good relationships with people at the job I'm leaving, and have a good reputation overall. However, there are 2 middle managers (including my boss), who have never wanted me to succeed (for their own selfish reasons).

I'm worried now that one of them will contact my new employer and try to discredit me (yes.. I know I sound paranoid), but I don't trust them. I don't know why I told people here where I was going...

If they jeopardize my new position, do I have any legal recourse? Do you think it would hurt me to contact HR here, and discuss my concerns?

    Thanks

  • Leaving a Job?

I know it's time for me to quit my current job. I've already started the job search process, and things are looking very promising. Trying to go on interviews is a challenge though while I'm still with my current employer. My boss is used to me never taking any time off. I don't really want to rush into another job, but would rather take some time to find the right job this time. My motivation is dropping quickly at my current job, and that adds to stress I have there. I don't like to give less than 110%. I know this is bad, but I'm just at that point.

My question is this...How much does it really hurt you to resign with your current employer without having a firm offer on the table somewhere else? Or, how do I regain motivation until I get a firm offer, so that I don't get canned! Thanks

  • Rough estimate of how much it costs to install new carpeting?

On our stairs (it's a split staircase - 18 steps and one landing) and the upstairs hallway. The hallway is about 25' long, 3' 1/2" wide for most of it, with one small section that is 7' wide.

I've never purchased carpet before, but would like to do it as a gift for my dad. It would need to be installed, because I have no idea how to do it myself. Roughly, how much do you think it would cost?

    Thanks

  • Have you ever hurt a toe before?

How long until it healed enough to workout?

Two days ago I dropped a 6 pack of coke on my foot. I lost a toenail on my middle toe, and bled like crazy. The bleeding finally stopped today, but there is bruising. I don't think it's broken, because I'm not in terrible pain and I can bend the toe, though I don't want to wear any closed toe shoes! I've been taking really good care of it to avoid infection.....

How long do you think it will take to heal? Excuses, excuses....but this was the weekend I was "really" going to start running again! LOL

  • Does disputing charges on a credit card hurt your credit?

I've just disputed a charge from Gold's Gym. I cancelled, in writing, my membership in May. They charged me in June, which was authorized since the contract requires 30 days notice of cancellation. I had membership for over a year, so I met all of my obligations under contract for cancellation.

However, the charged me again in July. I disputed the charge with my credit card company. If Gold's somehow makes it look like I owe July's bill, will it hurt my credit?

I don't want to pay Gold's anymore, but I don't want this affecting my credit....errrr!

  • Gold's Gym Membership Cancellation?

How do I get this company to stop billing me? I cancelled my membership in May. I expected to be charged in June because they require 30 days written notice. However, I got charged again in July. I've been with them for over a year, so I have met all obligations.

Someone I know had the same problem, and never got a credit back from them.

How do I stop them from charging me, and issue a credit for July?

    I think it really stinks!

    Thanks

  • How far in advance should I start preparing for the CPA exam?

I plan to have all MD state qualifications completed by Dec 2007, and sit for the exam in the spring of 2008.

I hope to take a review course in the spring of 08 as well. For those who have taken the exam, when did you start studying for it?

    Thanks

  • Why do some people procrastinate and others don't?

Do you get things accomplised ahead of time, or do you wait until the last minute?

I'm procrasination right now..... I'm really curious...

I don't consider myself lazy. I work about 60hrs a week and go to grad school at night, and have always gotten excellent grades. I just always wait until the very last minute to do my work (always within deadlines).

Why? I'd like to change, but since this has always worked out for me, there's not much incentive to do so (other than STRESS)!

What are your thoughts on why people procrasinate?

  • What Pet Peeves Do You Have?

    In general:

I can't stand spitting in public. Why do people do this? Just Curious....it makes me feel like gagging! I don't know why I find it so repulsive (maybe because of the germs), but it really grosses me out.

At Work: (not nearly as bad as spitting, but this gets old over time).

People who don't start a fresh pot of coffee in the morning after leaving only a tiny amount left in the pot...

  • Traveling Alone?

Have you ever taken a vacation on your own?

I'm considering it....but a little concerned over safety...I'm a 26 year old female...especially overseas. I travel alone for work quite frequently though, but it's all within the U.S., and I usually know where I'm going and who I'm meeting up with.

Did you have fun? Where did you go? Where do you find travel groups?

  • What was the first car you ever owned?

I drove a hoopty....but it was so much fun! My grandfather couldn't drive anymore, so I my grandparents gave me their 1980 Chevette...I was born in 1980!

I was embarrassed at first to take it to school, but having any car at 16 earned me some "friends"! LOL

Once I drove 13 kids home one day....it was a 2 door too....very funny at the time! The bottom dragged on the street, and people's faces were mashed against the windows! Ah - being young! I have fun memories of that car!
