Is there time to have babies and still work?
I am a 28 year old graduate student in a professional degree program. I will graduate in 2 years. I want to start my new career off with a bang, but I also do not want to wait too long to have kids (I want 2). Ideally I want to continue to work when I have my kids. Unfortunately, my family is on the other side of the country. Any daycare or other advice? I want to spend as much time with my kids as possible without sacrificing the career I have worked so hard to obtain.

Yes there is time for both. I'm a 23 yr old single mother of 3 kids ages 2 & 4 and I work in the office from 8 to 5. I have my 2 yr old twins in day care and my son goes to head start. During summer he goes to daycare also. Ask around to see if there are day cares with transportation. There's day cares that accept 6 wk old babies. Sometimes it will be very difficult but it's defenitely worth it.

Hi
I was 31 when i had my first and only child.
I needed to work, and wanted to have my son have the best care popssible
my mother in law raised her kids and did not want to be tied down understand, i agreed with her.
i have no family living so ,,,
i did the best thing i could think of.
I got a live in person to care for the baby,
it was not as easy as you might imagine,
i could not afford an agency, and i speak some spanish,
so i got a woman from Mexico, no she did not have papers, i interviewed many, as i put an ad in paper,
after talking to many, the one i picked was real large, in no hurry to run off
and marry, older, and of the females i interviewed, she was the only one that was not even concerned with money, of benefits,
The other females first thing said was how much?
ANY INSURANCE?
do i have my own room etc.
The woman i picked just ask me how old lwas baby, it was thirteen months, and she wanted to see the baby immediately, and hold him immediately, almost like she hired herself on the spot,
So that is what i did, and i felt ok about it because i could pop in anytime and make sure she was caring for him properly, and she did,

I don't know how in the world you would acomplish this. Maybe if you work from your home. I wouldn't be in any rush to have kids. They are a lot of work, and you will probably be worn out with work and kids.

work and kids are hard, especially when they are paired up together. if you've got a caring husband to help then that's going to make it twice as easy on you. may i recommend me? smart, witty, charming, loving, caring. should i go on?

ah. yes. it is a problem. you have to make choices.
hire a nanny and realize you will be constantly making
choices between kids & work.
