I really want to get behind Polygamy, but?

for the life of me I can not understand why it is so one sided.Has there ever been any woman who had more than one husbands , and if so who are they ? I love the idea and the concept but is it always just to benefit the man? Am I the only woman who secretly desires to have more than just one life partner? Be honest !

I agree with you, it is one sided. I think woman should have this right also if men do. I would love to have a few men around, hehe. Consenting adults should be able to marry who they want and as many. ;-)

Of course you're not the only woman who desires more than one partner. It is perfectly natural. Human beings are not monogamous, and it is very hard to maintain romantic passion for an entire lifetime. Unfortunately this is the way our culture has been built, around the idea of monogamy and mating with only one person for the rest of a person's life. It worked well enough when women could be oppressed and the natural desire to mate with as many other people as was practical could be suppressed, but these outdated nations are slowly dying away.

Certain Tibetians used to practice polyandry, where a woman has more than one husband at a time.

I once heard there is a pygmy woman deep in the Amazon who has several husbands. They do anything she demands. If they don't, she eats them.

On planet XR-7, where I'm from, most women have 7 husbands.

By definition, polygamy is having more than one spouse. No reference to man or woman.

In Mongolia there's a tribe that allows women to have more than one husband, but men can't have more than one wife. Check them out. I read about it in the National Geographic.

For myself, I would not want more than one man, and I would not want my man to have more than one woman. I just don't think it could ever work in a lasting committed relationship.

The reverse is polyandry. Inuits practise it - probably because they are so cold.

I don't know if you are the only woman who has ever had the fantasy. If you have 3 husbands you'll never be able to have a headache

It's illegal in the states to be in a polygamus relationship. To clarify, that means it's illegal to be married to more than 1 person. Having a polygamus relationship that's not a married relationship is up to you. If you can find two guys willing to put up with each other and you, hey, more power to you.

I don't know but you ever see all the wives of some of these guys..yuk..I wouldn't want one of them much less 4 or 5 !

it's not accepted because partly, it devalues women and their existence. usually it's just one man and many women. it sounds disgusting. monogamy has been around for so long and is widely accepted everywhere. anything different would be a "hell no"

Shoot..putting up with more than one man..NOT..polygamy is wrong on all sides

  • Nope,I think all humans male or female are polygamos.
