Only the hardliners are a problem with the 'it is as it was written' mentality. The typical Christian isn't really bothered about the contradiction and stuff, its about the message on how to be a better person.

For distinction i'm an athiest but i've had lots of experience with different types of christians. I can understand where you are coming from in the second part but as I said above, you read a book for the story not the words.

Mr. Serious dude, I wanna tell yu that i am 37years old this year. I learnt how to smoke at a tender age, learnt how to drink in high school, got expelled from school, my father and my mother divorced, I ran away from home, learnt about and had my first sexual encounter with a prostitute in my teens, smoked dope, joined a street gang, stole from my own family and relatives, attempted gang rape on a female and other things which society would call totally bad, man.

But God saved me through His Son, Jesus Christ when I cried out for His help and confessed my sinful nature. You see, I too did not like to listen to this Bible bashers but it was through them that I recieved salvation (that is eternal life in heaven where I believe it is so much better). You don't have to pay for this salvation, dude...it has already been paid for when Jesus died on the cross! It's free! All yu have to do is ask God for His help and he will show you things yu never thought possible and see amazing things yu never imagined. Yu see, even when I was in those situations, God never left my side...He was always there.

I now work as a supervisor for an exploration company in the catering section and I love my job and I earn good bucks.

Without those Bibe bashers I would not be where I am now. I was doomed for Hell which isn't a good place to be, believe me, I know, because I lived through it. If this amazing and unseen God can do this for me, dude, He can also do this for yu. That's how He is. He loves yu as yu are man and believe me He is a loyal friend to the very end. Just believe!

The numerous contradictions and hypocricies in the bible DO make my head hurt, but not all christians are that bad. My dad, for instance, is a babtist, though he realizes that the bible does contradict itself on many points. I just want to know though, if god created everything, how did darwin's finches come to be? Or the lemurs of Madagascar?

Rabbi Hillel, an ancient Jewish sage, was asked to teach someone the whole Torah (the book that Christians know as the Old Testament) while standing on one leg. He replied, "Love your neighbour as yourself. This is the whole Torah; all the laws and the prophets hang upon this one Law."

When Jesus Christ was asked to name the most important commandment, many years later, he said, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. This is the last and greatest commandment, and the second is like it: you shall love your neighbour as yourself."

This is the essence of Judeo-Christian spirituality. It should not make anybody's head hurt, it is relevant to all times and to all people's, and it's certainly not blind. Individual Christians may commit atrocities that go against the last and greatest commandment, but the teachings themselves are pure. The contradictions are not within the Bible, but within the behaviour of people who claim to follow the Bible.

If you keep up with daily events history is coming to a close right before your eyes based on Christanity & The Bible. There are no contradictions just alpha & omega... Just pray daily that you are not left behind after the Rapture. I will pray your eyes will be opened to the only truth there is..No one comes to the Father but by me (Christ).....

Christians, like any reglious org. makes one's head hurt 'speacially if they are trying to cave your head in with a blunt instrument - which lets face it - is what all 'devout' types have been trying to do to each other through the centuries.

In fact its quite easy to argue that the only real reason for belief in a God(s) is an excuse to be as unpleasant to someone as else.

Well everyone believes something even if that something is what they call nothing - some people just don't admit it.

Lots of people make lots of peoples heads hurt. I'm sorry you don't like Christians but mabye there are some people out there whose heads hurt because of people like you. It's all give and take.

All religions make my brain hurt. I can't understand their blind faith and their willingness to engage with stricutures laid down hundreds of years ago which bear no relevance to life today. What do the writers of the bible know about life in the 21st century - a great big fat zero - that's what. And don't start me on religion causing wars with its hatred of other faiths...

Some do, man. Not even migraine medicine can take care of the headache some of these people give me. If I hear one more time "If you would just believe..." I'll probably slap someone. You don't just wake up one day and say "Oh, I think today I'll believe in purple unicorns living on the moon." and you actually believe it. *Sigh*

it is full of contradictions, but it doesn't make my head hurt, mostly because i don't think about it. if it makes sense to them let them believe it. you're just giving 10 people an excuse to post religious dribble.
