    No....Teacher Christa McAuliffe, 37 was to be the first woman...That was on the Challenger.The Space Shuttle Challenger flew nine successful missions before that fateful day of the disaster in 1986. Which all 7 crew members was killed.

    I think that being the commander of a space shuttle missions is more prestegious for a woman than walking on the moon.

    Didn't you see the drawing? They found a woman's body on the moon -- it was Alice Kramden!

  • No, but when one does, it will only be a minor milestone.

    The major milestone will come when travelling to the moon is as common as travelling to Hawaii.
