Are there more serious question sites? Ones where people don't post just for the sake of posting?

There are many such sites, but they are all broken down by subject matter. If you're just looking for a site where you can post a question about any subject, this is a pretty good one. Yeah, you have to sift through a lot of static, but that's the nature of the internet.

What's annoying me about this site, is that people will post answers that are blatantly wrong, or answers that don't answer the question. Another problem is people re-posting the same questions over and over again. Here's the answers: "no, you can't make your hair grow faster. Yes, you're pretty. Yes, guys like _whatever_, and No, you're not tall enough to be a model."

This site is like any other discussion board though... we are a self-policing community. If someone breaks the rules, report them. This isn't a personal ad site... that's very clear in the community guidelines. Report users that do that, and they will go away. People constantly misclassify things also...

Yahoo needs to do away with the point system. I think it was intended to encourage people to make quality posts, but it doesn't work that way. Points don't really get you anything at all, so I'm not sure what the deal is with points-grubbing, but it's easier to get points by being a worthless waste of time than it is to write good answers or good questions.

Spam? I hardly see any spam on this site. As for serious questions, let me know when you find a site that has them. I think all of them are like this because the human race is designed to be this dumb and obnoxious.

I agree. The preteens and middle schoolers should not be permitted to post here. Unfortunately, there are plenty of immature adults, too.
