There are many reasons for this one, but they all come down to
1. Not getting enough water intake during the day; your body will not go into it's full restful state if you are not hydrated.
2. Poor nutrition- eating and drinking caffinated products or items with natural energy boosters (sugars) will cause a delay in your sleepiness.
3. Apnea, Failure to reach Restorative Sleep, Thyroid Disorder, AutoImmune Disorders (ie. diabetes, MS, rheumatoid arthritis etc..) or another commonly known disorder of insommnia.
4. Exposure to static/electric equipment in your resting area of the home- remove TV, Radio, Computers and keep alarm clocks further from your bed. We have electromagnetic energy fields that are disrupted with these items.
5. Try unwinding an hour before bed doing little activity such as reading a book. many times we have a hard time shutting down thought processes and this is an excellent way to escape and set your mind for rest.
6. Emotional worry- deal with the issues that may be keeping you up- once you have closure panic, worry and anxiety will leave, allowing you to rest your mind.
Hope this helps :)

Maybe you have insomnia. Maybe the things you´ve done during your wake time somehow emulated dreams. A lot of computer games have that tendency, which also counts for watching TV for long. Try doing something really physical before being too tired and avoid too much stimulation of dreamlike quality. Chances are that you will sleep like a baby, without any artificial pills that generally give you sound but dreamless sleep, which in the long run make you mentally tired.

I don't know, but I do the same thing. What helps for me is to block out all stimuli. That means going to sleep in a very dark room, and wearing earplugs. Guided Imagery and meditation also help alot. If it's stress related, you might want to learn ways of reducing stress and relaxing.

i cant answer this question because i have the same problem last night i only got in a hour and 45 minutes and im up now on the computer answering questions. I think they call it insomnia the inability to sleep when your body needs to be resting but wont let me know when you find a cure.

I do that. sometimes it is so I can have the time to do something that I want to do. Sometimes it is so I don't miss something. Sometimes I just have too much on my mind and my brain is problem solving. Sometimes I forgot and drank a pepsi with caffein late in the day. I'm always tired too.

You have over exerted yourself. The body is tired but the brain is on overtime. Soak your body in a nice Warm Spirit tea bath or a lavender soak.

Humans have a constant struggle to accept our limits. We want to be all places at once, we want to go without sleep, or stopping to eat, we want to eat everything possible without getting fat, we want to own everything we see without having to pay for it. So you just have a hard time accepting that you are just a human, and must have 6-8 hours of sleep, and you will probably miss out on some things while your sleeping.

May be depression. My sister had brought some quiz thing about depression and one of the questions on it was something along the lines of, "Do you go to sleep right away when you attempt to do so?"
