I always group the books by either subject, genre, or author and sell them on ebay in groups. Like putting all John Grisham books together, the Harry Potter Series, or Harlequin Romance Books. People love getting more than one at a time, especially if they are at a low price. If you are trying to get rid of them, donate them to a local library! They love when people give back. Put an add in your paper and let people call and inquire or have a yard sale! Hope you sell the ones you need to!

Contact local bookstores and do "an author talk". Plan this event about 6 weeks in advance, so you can help DO the publicity. It is important to get a CROWD there. If one store does not want to do it, just go to another. There are bookstores everywhere, so keep looking. If you get PLUGGED into a major chain, one will help you to get into their other stores. The bookstores will want you BUY from you directly, but at a discount. So when you TALK at thier store, they will be reselling your books.

Public libraries are also a place that you can sell your book. Again, set up an Author Talk.

There are book sales, county fairs and other public events that authors can visit. Here is one author that I know that keeps a busy schedule. (She's touring in Maine right now) Most of her sales are DIRECT at events like this. This is also where she earns the highest profit.

But you might try selling at on-line auctions that do not charge a POSTING fee.

Non fiction books sell well on Amazon.

Popular titles you won't get much money for on Amazon, they are best sold on e-bay and it's better to group a few books together by author.

A lot of popular titles are sold for a penny on Amazon, which only brings the seller a profit of about 50 cents (because of the shipping credit). It's not worth your time to make 50 cents off a book.

Go to a second book dealer and see what you can get for your books or sell them on e-bay

Through a bookshop, usually. Mailorder and internet selling may work, so can e-Bay.
