Have you had Lithotripsy? Or Kidney Stone Removed?

My question is about cost. How long ago did you have it done and if it was Lithotripsy or if you needed to have an open procedure to remove the stone. This will be my basis to decide where I will go to have it done.

Please think total cost as if you did not have insurance.

Thanks!

Call around. You can do that. The hospitals can give you a quote for non-insured procedures. I've had to do it. And there are differences! Check with your doctor, too. Doctors are affiliated with certain hospitals, not all of them because of insurance constraints. The Hospital that gives you the best deal, may not be the one your doctor is affiliated with.

Check with the hospital. Any hospital. Because of the new bankruptcy laws, they try to make things easier for you. Not only do they help you set up an easy payment plan, they also can discount some of the procedure. Why? Because they have to hire many different people with different billing skills, to deal with the insurance companies, and it's labor intensive and time consuming.

A lot of hospitals nationwide have had to close. That means the remaining hospitals have more patients, more patients, more money coming in and the efficient use of medical staff, lower down time with nothing to do for the various technicians. (The nursing staff ALWAYS has too much to do.)

Depending on your yearly income, there may be breaks in cost.

Good luck, I hope this helps even if I couldn't give you a quote.

this is surely standard if my journey is any indicator. i've got had a entire of 9 kidney stones interior the final 12 years, yet in basic terms the final one became undesirable adequate to decide for lithotripsy. It went o.k. and that i became back at artwork in 2 days. it variety of feels I rushed it somewhat, as i became in discomfort for no less than a week, and that i had discomfort for extra or less 3 weeks. After that element , i became thoroughly standard and much extra clever than I were for some time.

I have had it done twice. Luckily I had insurance but I would guess somewhere in the neighborhood of 2000.00 billed to insurance co.

You are under ANESTHESIA $$$$, the machine they use is hard to come by $$$$. (the hospital I used only had it once a week every OTHER week)

I'm sorry you'd have to cover the expense yourself! Hope you get something figured out! Good Luck!

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
