How do I remove water spots from my car?

My car sits out in the open. It has a lot of build up from water spots. Can you or someone you know give me a specific detailed personally tried-and-tested way of getting rid of water spots on cars?

Please answer only if you have experiance.

I need to know what has worked for a real person - not online instructions.

Try wiping down your car with a mixture of white vinegar and water.

Source(s): A vinegar wetted rag wrapped around bathroom fixtures works great for this purpose.

The only way that I have found is to wash and thoroughly dry the vehicle and let it dry in the sun for a couple of hours. The any spots that arrise I will use Meguiers quick detailer with a microfiber cloth to wipe down any that appears from time to time. Also when I drive it the first time after washing it.
