Why is bush putting security at the wrong border???

What is up with extra security at the Mexican border?? It's stupid!!! We don't need extra security there, we need it at the NY and L.A. ports!!!! I have never heard of a terror threat coming through the Mexico-U.S. border. A few weeks ago there was a threat that came in through the l.a. port saying a bunch of nonsense about us jews and of bush's govt. Security is being put in the wrong place!!! Doesn't anyone see that???

You do have a point but the fact of the matter is there are simply not enough competent security personnel to have enough everywhere. The fact of the matter is if you and I know where they're concentrating there efforts then the terrorists do too. Some of these reports may indeed be false in order to set traps and stings to catch others who mean us harm. It's always possible to use any border to enter this country at any time.I wouldn't want this responsibility to figure out where the real threats are.Intelligence can be flawed and we're not dealing with idiots here. They're extremely calculated. So you have a point and all I can offer is my opinion.Joe

I think it is okay that he's enhancing the security in the border with mexico, but I think the terrorists entered the US from Canada, and there's not even border patrol there, so What he's doing is just taking care of the illegals, and Illegals are not terrorists, they just want to work. If He wants the US to be safe and terrorism-free, he has to secure EVERY port.

Because the pressure is to shut down the Mexican border and Bush wants to gain some points in popularity. What he doesn't realize is that the Mexican border is perhaps the hardest to cross and that half cross through Canada and by sea.

Because Bush wants everyone to think he is actually doing something. Problems with Iraq? Send militia to the Mexican border!! Problems with hurricanes? Send our men to the border!! Terroristic threats? Send them to the Mexican border!! Believers in lies are followers!

The Nation Guard troops on the Mexican border is more for illegal immigration than for terrorists. I do agree that we need more security at our sea ports.

it's all about perception. your typical ignorant American only thinks of Mexico when they hear the word "border".

but seriously, I have heard that terrorists have come across the Mexican border. check your facts.

Well...being that 9/11 was such a tragic event that was manipulated and staged by Bush, why do you think he would put any money into NY?
