Anyone know how to get a burnt pan clean?

I was making iced tea in a stainless steel pan. An emergency came up and I left (no lectures, please, I know how lucky I am).

Needless to say, the pan and contents burned. How can I get it clean? I've tried baking soda and a scouring pad.

Update:

Lemon juice doesn't work

Update 2:

Salt doesn't work either. Tried that, too

Get as much of the contents out by simply soaking. To get rid of the discolouring of the pan, simply leave the pan overnight in a solution of water and bleach. Guarantee you that the pan will be clean in the morning

Source(s): Instruction leaflet that came with my French pan set of "Le Creuset". Tried it myself after a burned rice disaster, pan was as new after the bleach treatment....

Don't get lemons, get limes, you will need them for the Coronas! Get a 12 pk. and some Ajax and #2 steel wool.

    1. Open 1 Corona

    2. Put in slice of lime

    3. Put a little warm water in the pan

    4. Get a piece of the steel wool

    5, Big drink of beer

    6. Start scrubbing

    7. Rinse pan very well.

Repeat this till the 12 pack is gone, if the pan isn't clean, go buy a new one, you will spend too much on beer trying to clean it :-)

    Been there, done that.

The best degreaser for burnt pots and pans is a dryer sheet - any brand. Add water to the item, drop a dryer sheet (used or new) into the water. Set aside to soak a minimum 30 minutes, overnight is even better.

Wash up and throw the dryer sheet away.

Mine was eggs we were boiling for Easter :)

cream of tartar, sprinkle the burned parts with it add water to cover and then bring to a boil. If you still have some stains, use "Bar Keepers Friend" or "Bon Ami", make a paste and scrub until it comes off.

add water above burns, 1/2 cup lemon juice and heat to boiling, remove from heat (while water is STILL in it) and let cool...

scrub again while water is still warm...

Try soaking it in Coca-Cola, its worked for me. You'll want to let is soak for awhile, probably overnight. Its also really good to clean the rims on your car. Good luck.
