go nav! you see the world, no direct fighting, boot camp is a breeze, advancement is easier and faster. what ever you decide . . . get your education/college degree while in. dont waste your time. make the most of it. if you are going to make it a career, try getting your college degree first. good luck, sailor.

Anyone who would tell you what you should join would be doing you a disservice. It depends on what you want to do, where you want to do it, and who you want to do it with. It depends on your education, skills, interests, and ideals. All are good in their own right. Some people always say go air force because it's generally considered that the air force offers the best living conditions. One thing about the air force is that they are currently cutting back on personnel so that means there will be limited openings to enlist and for some schools. Some believe because it has hi-tech aircraft that the technical schools are better. Not necessarily so. The navy has some excellant schools...especially in electronics and avionics. Of course the navy is a sea going force. Whether you have a rate as a seaman or airman you're likely going to pull sea duty. Life on a ship can be somewhat restrictive, but then again many take a lot of pride in the equipment they work with. The army is the largest and most universal in that they have a little bit of everything. Primarily though it is still a ground force. Many opportunities in a variety of combat arms, technical, and administrative jobs. If you are a fighter you've got infantry, armor, cav, artillery, and choppers. Want more, go ranger or special forces. By the same token you could be in accounting, supply, motor transport. You could even be a cartographer. Marine Corps is air, land, and sea, with mos's that will put you in any of those. Marines use navy schools for aviation and they are some of the best. You have some of the same combat arms the army does but generally on a smaller scale. Infantry, armor, and artillery training are second to none. Of course marines have administrative and support jobs just like the army. Boot camp is tough but it's worth it. You need to go to the library and pick up a few books about each branch. For example you can find a book that describes life in the navy on a destroyer or a submarine. Talk to some recruitors and get some brochures about career opportunities. Think about what your interests are. You might be attracted to one branch or another because of tradition or because a family member was in...lots of factors but only you can decide. Find your own path, don't let anyone tell you one is better than the other...that just means it is better for them. Good luck.

P.S. I forgot to mention the Coast Guard...don't overlook them.

It depends on what you want to do. The military has the best training in the world. Talk to different recruiters, and use common sence. For example don't let an Army recruiter tell you that you can get the best training on an Army nuclear sub, but in the same respect don't let a Navy recruiter tell you how great their training is for infantry. If you use common since the Marines have the best infantry training, in that respect they need the best medical support, so if you want a career in medicine, go Navy Corpsman. You won't get out a doctor, but you will can get a head start in nursing, or paramedic.

USAF or USN. But it will actually depend on exactly what your career goals are. If I had to choose I would pick the Air Force. Second choice Navy. But if you have your heart set on seeing action then the Marines or Army.

Depends on what you look for. I went Navy, submarines. Air Force is too easy to take out, and most of it is ground crew, so no fun. Army, well just watch Private Ryan or Patton and you'll see why that may not be healthy. Marines? Those guys like pain, not for me. Navy, sitting ducks on a flat surface EXCEPT the submarines. And sub sailors are like bikers, good guys to have watching your back. Never regretted it.

It depends on what you want... I am in the Navy currently serving in Iraq with the Air Force, Army and Marine Corps... I've served with all branches twice including the coast guard... If you want to travel and see the world, go into the navy, since they go out to sea and hit ports all over the world... But I'm a little biased...

Air Force is downsizing. Army and Marines are ... well ... lets just say somewhat limited, and limiting. Navy has everything the Air force has and then some, and they travel. Much better opportunity all the way around for a wider education and opportunity.

First of all you have to ask yourself what skills you have and what you can offer any of the armed services. Read all the fine print that the recruiters give to you. Once you enlist you Lose some of your civilian rights! What kind of physical shape are you in? How old are you. If you're in your late 20's or older would you really want and 18 year old telling you what to do?

I dont know field in the Military you are interested in but I would recommend the Coast Guard, mostly USA duties good travel also good, benefits to move faster up in the system and your protecting not only human life but marine life.

All are good for helping to kill poor, innocent men, women and children. Also a bonus when you want to rape women and get away with it.

The Air Force lets you drop bombs and never see that you're killing people.

The US Navy lets you destroy marine life with sonar.

The USMC lets you burst into a house and shoot the whole family and then claim they were terrorists. Good luck!
