Does walking at night do anything?

Can you lose calories if you take a long walk at night? I know that if you walk in the morning then your body will be burning calories throughout the day even if you're not doing anything but does it go the same for when you sleep?

Calorie-wise, the night is generally cooler than the day. You would be perspiring less, and your body should be working less to maintain temperature. But not much less. Since there are about 3200 calories in a pound, and if you walk 30 minutes a day, and if the difference between day and night is 3 calories every five minutes, then:

If you walk five nights a week, as opposed to five days, you would burn off one pound LESS, but that one pound would take 35 weeks to register on your bathroom scale.

You would do better just to increase your pace, or to increase your walking time.

Some people don't want to walk a long way in the morning because of their sweet sleep.

Walking at night is still OK even better for some people who have different physical systems.

Return from a long way walking that could help you sleep easily and deeply. Certainly that is very good for your fitness especially your brain. So that I considers that your habit could bring benefit as much as walking in the morning.

I think walking after dinner is great for burning those calories as well as aiding in digestion. I would be careful however and make sure you don't do it too close to bedtime or it may keep you awake. Give it a shot and see what happens.

Walking the same distance at the same speed will burn the same number of calories regardless of the time of day you do it. If it is easier to walk at night gol for it!

Yes it will do the same when you sleep. The more lean muscle mass you have the more you will continually burn calories. And it will help you sleep naturally as well.

it gives you the same amount of exercise as in walking days but you're not sweating!

And if you walk alone, lets say you might get mugged! cuz theres no one else around and would be in the daytime.

You burn the same amount regardless of the time. If you do it close to bedtime it may be hard for you to fall asleep though.
