We have gasoline for the lawnmower, stored in a gas container, in the garage but?

Gas vaporizes more easily during hot temperatures. Move the can somewhere outside or in the garage. If outside, cover so water doesn't get in the can. Keep in the shade. Be sure to air out the room with vapors, they're explosive.

fuel expands and has to vent ,when warm days arrive it vents due to expansion and it it the vapors that are ignitable not the liquid it self.,

dont store in enclosed area with pilot light etc... ]

fuel does not keep good more than a couple of months now it breaks down due to the additives in it...

not like when I was a kid it smelled good I know yuk but to a gear head it did...

so get it out of the garage asap

get that can out of the house immediately a pilot light from your water heater or furnace could set it off meaning your house could explode gas vapors are much more explosive than the the gas in liquid form 100 times more explosive any spark could set it off

it is because of the heat the gas vapors get out..

store it outside if you can...

take the can outside, and open up the house to let the fumes dissapate.
