There is no cure that I'm aware of. I suffer from the same problem. You can take medication that helps with the symptoms. Meclizine can be purchased over the counter at the pharmacy. Just follow the directions. You'll be very sleepy while taking it so make sure you don't drive or do anything that might require you to be alert. Rest a lot, sleep as much as you can, and drink plenty of fluid especially water. An antihistamine wouldn't hurt either but you might want to check with your doctor or pharmacist about possible drug interactions and doseages.
Ear candles are wonderful and do help a lot. You can find those at most health stores like GNC. Make sure you have someone be with you when you use the candles. They're very soothing and you might fall asleep if you use them without supervision.
I've found that this problem often bothers me most when I'm very tired and haven't slept much over a long period of time, have an increased caffeine intake, and are under a lot of stress.
Hope the advice helps and hope your vertigo goes away soon!

I get this all of the time. It could be just that you're dehydrated or malnourished, or something bad. Have you been eating regularly? Healthy foods? Have you been drinking at LEAST 8 glasses of liquid a day? Usually when i'm feeling this way, I can't see for a few seconds. You're just dehydrated or malnourished and you have low blood sugar. A doctor is not reccomended, unless you try my method and still, this goes on for an extended period of time. Then you should speak to your doctor. Hope this helps! c;

I had positional vertigo once and they gave me Valium (very nice) and Antivert. After 2 days of boring bed rest I was better. For short term vertigo...rest is still what works best.

You should go to the doctor and see what the cause is. There are a number of causes from internal ear infections to Meniere's disease. The treatment depends upon the cause. Antivert is one drug used to combat vertigo and it works.

There are actually physical exercises you can do to help overcome vertigo. Go to your doctor or see a physical therapist.

Drink heavily and keep one foot on the ground...
Seriously, I agree and have heard to take motion sickness pills and lots of rest. Cold cloth over the eyes soothes as well.
Hope you feel better.

you need to find the cause of your vertigo. sometimes it can be caused by what they call a "rock in the ear" in which there is a calcium deposit that gets into the semicircular canal of the middle ear. to treat this, there are positional changes that can be done to help to settle the calcium deposit. also, it could be an inner ear infection (ottitis interna), or associated with your sinuses and poor drainage. You need to find out what is causing the vertigo. Another route that you could look into though is go to a chiropractor and have your neck checked out. They look into the structure and function of the body with out giving you medicine that may have undesirable side effects. it is just important to find out the cause!

The neurologist suggested to my husband that he take 2 ginger tablets twice a day. They helped him when nothing else did. They are over the counter and inexpensive. Good luck. I hope that they help you, too.
