Can I hear about experiences and recuperations of those who had adult umbilical hernia repair surgery?

Please say if it was laproscopic or regular.

I had my tubes tied the same time they did the umbilical hernia. It was laparoscopic for the tube tying, but since they went through the belly button to do that I don't think the hernia was...I was kind of out of it at that point so I don't know. I opted to be "awake"(heavily sedating cocktail given to me). I have a funkey T shaped scar coming out of my belly button that is about an inch big. The weirdest thing about it was they put me in a harness and basically suspended me from my arms and legs so gravity would pull down everything inside so intestines and things wouldn't get in the way. They then inflated my abdomen and did the surgery. The inflating makes room so they can move the camera and thing around to do the surgery. I'm not sure if they would suspend you though...I think that was just for the tube tying.
