Haveing tubes tied and pregnant?

I had my tubes tied after our 4th son in 2002.

In Oct 2005 I got pregnant and miscarried naturally, then in May 2006 I got pregnant again and they gave me a methotrexate shot to absorb the preganancy since my HCG levels were dropping.

In June, I had a NORMAL cycle.

NOW AGAIN I was to have my cycle July 28th and havent yet, took a HPT and got a + result.

Today I had some abdomal pain that lasted about 10-15 min, then it went away and I feel GREAT.

I got to the clinic tomorrow (8-5-06) to get a HCG level test done to see if the pains I had today was a start of a miscarriage or not.

I know that women get pregnant and have healthy babies as my grandma,Aunt and cousin all have (runs in the family) lol

But have you ever heard of any other cases such as mine?

Pregnant for the 3rd time or more after tubes tied ??

Thanks in advance for all your answers and opinions

Update:

1) I now live 1500 miles from the DR that tied them, and he dont work at that hospital anymore, I tried to contact him about it before we moved and he cant be reached at that hospital.

2) Not relying on it for birth control, at teh time I had them tied we didnt want anymore kids, but now we are re-thinking it.

3)I paid big money to have them tied in the first place, Im not going to go spend more to have them re-tied.

To me and in my beliefs, everything happens for a reason, so maybe there is a reason why!?!?!?

It might be a good idea to find out exactly what the doctor did when he "tied" your tubes. Had I not known details to ask my doctor, I would not have known that my doctor didn't actually "tie" my tubes but instead put a clip on them (Filshie clips) where they just clip the tubes and over time the tubes they die in the midportion of the clip and the tubes split. If you had this procedure, it is possible that one of the clips fell off which is why you are having repeated tubal pregnancies. If you are adamant about NEVER getting pregnant again, speak with your doctor about more definitive measures (i.e. partial hysterectomy) to prevent a tubal pregnancy again because if not caught early it can be fatal.

However, if you decide to have another child as you stated, then also speak with your doctors about reversing things as right now there is no chance for survival if you were to get pregnant again since it would be outside the uterus anyway.

Tubes being cut/tied stop the eggs being fertilised because they are not released into an area where the sperm can fertilise them. If done correctly there is the smallest, tiniest, miniscule chance of being able to get pregnant. Most reported cases where people have got pregnant are when the operation wasn't done properly or very rarely the tubes have mended themselves. It is reversable in most cases though so if you're trying to concieve that might be an option.

I have a friend who became pregnant after having her tubes tied, although there were no complications or miscarriages.

I am so sorry to hear that you have gone through all of that. I can't imagine how you feel but my heart goes out to you.

I sincerely wish you good luck and hope that everything works out well for you and your family.

When you can't get pregnant, and things look good from the outside, it can be extremely frustrating.

The first thing to consider is how long have you been trying. About 80% of couples will get pregnant after six months of trying, and about 90% will be pregnant after 12 months of trying to get pregnant. Anyway this is a great methid to get pregnant fast https://tr.im/a276e

If pregnancy occurs after a tubal ligaton then the tubal is to be considered inadequate and another form of birth control needs to be administered until the patient can undergo another tubal ligation. You're going to keep getting pg unless you use some other form of birth control. It is not unheard of for tubes to reconnect.

It seems to me that your tubal ligation failed. I am surprised that you have continued to rely on it for birth control after the first post tubal pregnancy. (Maybe I am making an assumption that you don't want more kids.) Anyhow, you should assume that your tubes are NOT tied.

I'd be going back to the Dr that tied your tubes and get some answers.

Why don't you get an IUD inserted (in uterous, does not hurt) so you can have extra protection? I got the mirena which last for 5 years. They have copper IUD which lastes 10 years.

I was told that having your tubes just tied wasn't guaranteed. I had mine cut the ends burnt then tied. No chance of it happening then.
