Are the best answers chosen on YAHOO really the best answer? Or are they just what the asker wants to hear?

    I agree; in most cases, the answers are just validations of the asker's point of view. There are very few best answers which are chosen because they really are the best answer to the question.

    most of the time they are the best answer in the point of view of the person answering. the asker decides if it fits the situation and agrees with it. some questions have no real best answer.

    When I answer questions, I just put down what my honest thoughts are. I have gotten many best answers, so I guess I am good with my responses.

    I would think that most everyone tries to answer questions in a helpful way.

    Sometimes it is what the questioner wants to hear. Sometimes people just want verification, or justification. Truly honest people will choose the best answer on it's own merits. It does happen.
