See if this helps.
1. Open your System Prefs folder & click on the Security icon. Make sure you do not have checked 'Log out after 'x' minutes of inactivity.
2. Still in System Prefs folder — click on Energy Saver and make sure that 'Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible' is not checked.
