Why are people such ******* when someone puts a "racist" question?

Example: Why did the jew cross the road? Why do chinese people have small ding-dongs(that bastard didn't silence me foreever) Why are americans such idiots? Why do gypsies steal? Why are black people predisposed to violence?.You see if you say negative characteristics about a race you are called a racist bun you say africans have big cocks, or indian women are loyal or Japanese have a good tehnology no one bothers... this is kinda hypocricy if you ask me... I think they are just ofended because they some of them don't have what it takes to step up and say "that's right... but we have strong points too" . They just know to say : YOU ARE A RACIST!!! Nobody is perfect!

The problem probably arises when you make generalized statements. Not all blacks are predisposed to violence. It more than likely stems from the environment you were brought up in. If your father was violent towards you, you will transfer that anger on someone else at another time. I know a lot of white people that are violent and it has nothing to do with skin color. Same with calling all Americans idiots. There are a lot of smart people in the U.S. and I take umbrage to your careless banter. If we are such idiots why has the world started using inventions from our fine citizens? Traffic lights, for example, were not only invented by an American but a BLACK American- Garrett Morgan. Without Traffic lights it would be a lot harder to navigate roads in major cities.

If your city is ever attacked with a biological or chemical weapon and you grab your gas mask you'd better thank a BLACK AMERICAN.... yep, again invented by Garrett Morgan.

I think it would be wise for you to reconsider your conclusions about generalizing characteristics involving groups of people. There are good and bad in all races and you are certainly no exception.

Because those things are racist. Sure some Jews are overfond of money or some blacks are violent or some whites are power-hungry, but not all are of any race. People are people, there are good and bad in every race. But what you said at the beginning as examples are full of hate, and it is kind of tough not to respond with similar hatred, which is why they are such ******* as you put it (in essence you started it, and while it is wrong to respond in kind it is human nature to respond in kind). Some people think the second things you said are racist as well, but you'll get much less of a response to stereotypes that are good because there is not as much hatred (though the generalizing is still there) in the question.

It's both a good and a bad thing that people are responding like that.

It's a bad thing, because many people are hypocrites and don't realize that EVERY human being has stereotypes.

People who say they don't stereotype are liars.

If a guy wearing rags was walking down the street, NOBODY would assume the guy is a CEO at a company somewhere. Everybody would think he was a bum or a homeless guy. That's a stereotype. We think homeless people are more likely to wear rags than CEOs.

But the good thing about people reacting negatively to racial questions is that at least they are trying to be accepting of others.

If people in America were to return to being racist and intolerant, this place would look like the Middle East, where people hate and fight each other simply because of ethnicity.

No, I think Africans would be offended if they were said to have big cocks. How else do they fit into such small places...

...and no, I am not being racist. I am just commenting on your question.

Well, I think it's because people don't like to be offended.

That's right. human nature. Offend someone who offends you. Eye for an eye.

My threshold for racism/ethnicism (That's right, ethnicism is a problem too) is something where you actually offend a person personally, not like telling jokes about a general population.

...well, unacceptable racism, anyway. Racism is acceptable to a certain point, it's not completely abolishable...

Because all people, like closet homosexuals, are 'racist' andfeel the need to vehemently prosecute anything they feel is remotely 'racist' for fear people will question their commitment to 'anti-racism'.

Of course, when I say 'racist', I mean the fundamental reflex action humans have for categorising people, be it race, religion or clothes. We can't help it, it's just the way the brain works in differentiating members of the same species. It also helps in identifying people quickly (imagine having to describe people based on just their personalities).

There's no need to pretend we are all the same; we're aren't, and the differences are glaringly obvious. What we need to do is accept those differences and celebrate them. But these insensitive questions you talk about? They obviously need to stop?

I think the majority of people react to negativity and leave the positive alone because it is really not acceptable...

For example: When you have a nice and pleasant cashier at the grocery store, do you tell the Manager, BUT when you have a rude and unpleasant cashier, your first reaction is to tell the Manager about the negative BUT skip telling the Manager of the Positive and pleasantries!!!

    HEY-just my observation and opinion

I'm with you. I can't stand these people who seem to think its a sin to have prejudices, everybody has prejudices. I don't think they even understand the definition of prejudice, it means to pre-judge, and not all prejudices have to be negative or discriminatory. People seem to link having prejudices of any kind to being a racist, bigot, etc. (for a full list please view the idiotic replies to some of my previous questions). I'm starting to get a little worked up now and I'm not sure my rant had anything to do with your question so I'll have to stop.

Your approach provokes such a response.

Why would you need to ask such questions? You seem to already know what the answers are.

Try asking questions that you actually would like an answer to.

    Good luck

Most people are offended by racist jokes. It's usually only kids who ask these questions and answer with jokes. Your right no one race is perfect. We have to learn to tolerate each other no matter what race.

I agree with you, but only to the extent that when you say something positive it's OK. Have you ever heard the term "if you can't say anything nice. Don't say anything?" There's a lot to be learned from that. For instance. Never miss a good chance to shut up.
