Are new low dose birth control pills as effective as the old type?

My Dr prescribed a low estrogen and prog. pill for me (based on a family history of breast cancer) and it made me curious if the lower dosages are as effective as the older higher dose pills.

They are telling us that they are indeed as effective as the old types. People tolerate the pills differently based on their own hormonal needs. That's why the new ones were created because people were having too many side effects such as weight gain, etc.. from the higher dosed ones.

be carefull they are 99.9 % affective when used properly.....that means that with the new pills having lower doses of hormones that they have a shorter lasting affect. you need to take your pill within a 1-2 hour window of time everyday. If you are like me with an eratic schedule you may forget that you should take it at 6 pm and then take it at 11 pm instead, this can cause pregnancy because you don't have a consistant leval in your system. Plus the pill doesn't prevent STD"S

I would trust them to be as effective, yes. After all, when taken as directed, birth control pills have an extremely high rate of preventing pregnancy, like 99.99%, and if they weren't as effective as the older dosages, I doubt the manufacturers would be making them for that purpose.

i could say the mini pill its called Cerazette. I was bothered by rather undesirable abdomen cramps in the time of my era and my cousin cautioned me to get myself on the pill. by using fact I somewhat have taken this pill i've got not had a era and those nasty cramps have long previous away. i think of that's the superb beginning administration pill there is.

My research found that the lower dose pills are as effective and pose less side effects.

Yea they are, some even more. You can find all of them and detailed information at http://www.noprescriptiondrugstore.com/ . As long as you take them everyday at the same hour, make sure to do not take them with antibiotics and other drugs you'll be really safe.
