I also finished "In the Penal Colony" and "Civil Disobedience" which I enjoyed. I'd appreciate suggestions in classic literature please.

This statement was made to me by a former California Correctional Officer (said he quit in 1996) when I asked why he continuously ranted about the town's low-life drug users and sellers in the revolving jail door; the validity of correctional officers tainting inmates food with drugs to keep them coming back repeatedly and his total negative attitude about our town. He also said, "I don't talk about nothing until I seen it with my own eyes."

My question is for both answerers who are in law enforcement and those who are familiar with law enforcement through family or friends, and also those who have an opinion on what that statement reveals: do you agree or disagree with this "thinking like a criminal" analogy and why.

Please note that I don't have access to a gas stove and oven, but will get an electric hotplate and do have a microwave, toaster and toasteroven...and a refrigerator/freezer. And please no recipes for meal entrees requiring a lot of ingredients. Just simple, cheap and versatile meal ideas is needed for about $70.00

Want to do a reverse address search (finder) on a couple of folks that I am 100% confident of the address' accuracy. However, this particular street address actually will return over maybe a bit over 100 names, as it is a mobile home park (I believe there's actually 85 sites). I have a very good lead on their names (at least, what they currently use now) but I need to get close to the mark as possible.

I have done exhaustive freebie searches with the well known people search engines, or finders, testing with my own name, previous name, relatives names and even did an in depth background search about 3 years ago on my spouse just to see if these things held true, and was surprised at the current and accuracy. For a 24 hour pass, which website would you suggest? I know intelius is good, but what others (nix Zabasearch--I need details). Thanks for ideas.

This is a very recent problem to an older model in good running order otherwise. Anyone with this experience care to share or some helpful auto DIY'ers or techs tips will be appreciated.

filter replaced and got a few good smooth drives then back to the hard, rough idle on startup. No other engine symptoms and really was running great til this. It's a 6cylinder; think the engine is 3.01L. I keep close checks on engine fluids, other basic stuff and am a easy driver with no young people in household. Any good suggestions, ideas, experience would greatly help.

after driving a few miles, idle holds. I changed the fuel filter, no improvement. It did need a clean filter and I replaced it carefully with owner service manual instructions. This is a new problem; everything else has been fine. Just rough, choppy idle after engine starts that got worse in about 1 month time. I haven't driven it since fuel filter unmprovement. Sound advice and suggestions (with source of knowledge or experiences please), ideas to consider, or a solid solution will all be appreciated!

Due to current all time low funding for the Los Angeles County Jail, inmate sentences are reduced to 10% of actual time sentencing. Therefore, a 45 day sentence is 4 days in jail. Were you aware of this fact?

I know logically the answer is in our daily newspaper, but I'm disabled and unable to get to a news rack to find out. Victorville is located in Southern California, in the High Desert, if that helps any. Just heard this on breaking news report 6:45pm PST. In St. Louis, a friend of a pregnant woman killed her, cut out her fetus. The pregnant woman had 3 missing children, all very young, who were just now found dead in a dryer and the police also found the removed fetus dead as well. What sentence could possibly fit this horrific crime?
