Registered Nurses or Waitreses who makes more money?

My gf thinks waitresses make more or as much money as R. Nurses. Is she off her rocker? I think so but I need help seeing the other points of view. For instance she thinks that if you go to the restaurant and spend $100.00 she's taxed on that as opposed to only her tip which may be $5/$10 or $20 dollars. Can some waiters/waitresses out there clear this up for me?

Thanks

I do not know many waitreses that make 50,000 and more a year. That is what I make heck even a LPN would make more. Not everyone is going to give you the 10-20% tip just because you should.

She will have to declare any cash tips she gets everynight. If she doesn't claim any tips, she will have to pay back taxes and possibly penalties, so beware.

Have her go get her degree and become an RN. There is a huge demand for this workforce and the amount of RNs is diminishing. She could make well more than originally thought because she will be the one sought after and employers may be willing to pay.

True, Waitresses can make more money epnding on the untaxed tips they earn, but the security is not there. Nirses have the job and financial security

RN's make more money. Especially with the huge need for RN's in our hospitals right now.
