Usually between 4,300 and 10,800 cells per cubic millimetre. Vast gap I know, but everyone is different!

I work in a lab and while each instrument has its individual ranges, something close to these is normal.

    Female and Male : 3.5-10.5 TH/MM3

    Critically Low : 2.5

    Critically High: 35

The average person is more likely to run high than low.

    High: Sick: Flu, cold,etc.

Really High, Really low, or immature WBCs can mean leukemia or lymphoma.

Source(s): I am a lab tech,I do that test. Hundreds of them... daily.

Normal values: WBC: 4,500 to 10,000 cells/mcl Note: cells/mcl = cells per microliter What abnormal results mean: Low numbers of WBCs (leukopenia) may indicate: bone marrow failure (for example, due to granuloma, tumor, fibrosis) presence of cytotoxic substance collagen-vascular diseases (such as lupus erythematosus) disease of the liver or spleen radiation High numbers of WBCs (leukocytosis) may indicate: infectious diseases inflammatory disease (such as rheumatoid arthritis or allergy) leukemia severe emotional or physical stress tissue damage (for example, burns)
