I don't give a flaming rat's turd about preseason football other than seeing if the rookies and free agents are any good. I'm a Titan's fan and I can say that NO ONE, not even the Titans are "ready" yet because from this day forward, cuts are going to be made, reducing the rosters to the 53 man limit. One third of the guys you saw this past weekend will not be on the team on Sept. 3, so it doesn't matter. Yes, it's exciting to see them fight for their jobs, but it doesn't matter if a team goes 0-4 in preseason or 4-0. It only matters when the games are for real.

Some teams don't really have much competition. My Panthers don't really have a whole lot of competition that is exciting...and a lot of teams are like that.
They have a lot of competition at #3 spots, but most of the positions are locked up. SS we have a few guys that can start, so it's not like they want to find experience, especially with Shaun Williams on the roster. Then at linebacker....we have too many starters as the problem. Na'il Diggs, Chris Draft, Keith Adams, and Thomas Davis all working for the two OLB spots but it's pretty obvious that they'll all get playing time this season. So watching Carolina play wont be exciting after their first drive because it'll be a bunch of #3 guys competing for jobs.
Atlanta has a lot of competition because the team is in need of a lot of help if they want to do well, most of their positions are mediocre...and in my and a lot of other people's opinions...Vick is a horrible QB....They need to start Schaub instead, he's the guy that will have the best chance of taking the Falcons anywhere...but they'd rather sell tickets with Vick...whatever.

Interesting, but it would never work for several reasons. 1) Owners basically have 10 home games (8 regular and 2 exhibition) to make money on. This process would mean that some teams get none at all. 2) Players are paid by the game, so obviously that would have to be changed. If players got their whole year's salary just for playing in the tournament, what's the incentive to play more than one game? 3) TV networks would never pay the billions they pay now which basically supports all of the salaries of the players if there are only 31 games versus the 271 there are now. 4) Fans would hate not having their traditional rivalries every year. Can you imagine football season without Dallas and Washington, Chicago and Green Bay, or Oakland and the rest of their division?

My Cowboys looked pretty good last night. Tony Romo played the whole game and he really surprised me.
Atlanta's Jerious Norwood is going to put some added pressure on T.J. Duckett for some playing time after his NFL debut.
Reggie Bush was incredible on that 44 yard scamper, making the Titans look like they were the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors.
Carolina impressed me last night. The first team offense and defense looked like they were itching to get out there and show everybody why so many people have them as the favorite to reach the Super Bowl.
I was really surprised that the Jaguars played their first string offense mid way through to the 2nd quarter. What was they thinking. You only do that on the last pre-season game. Luckily they didn't have any major injuries.
Other than that it's kind of been your "Ordinary Run Of The Mill" first week of pre-season games. Lots of turnovers, false starts, holding, and missed tackles. We'll see what goes down in the weeks to come.

They are playing for fun. What is there to be impressed about. Go back 40 yrs and check each Super Bowl winner's preseason record and then get back to me.

im a big miami dolphins fan and though they didnt look impressive there going to do great cuz if you notice there 2nd and 3rd string werent clicking but there starting line up was distroying the jaguars and the reason they looked bad in the second qtr. was cuz our 2nd and 3rd people were in while there starting line up were still in. so we'll talk in about 2 and a half month

Its just the Pre-season games. I havent been impressed with the games either. But you have to think about the fact that the starters dont really play the whole game.

From what i've watched, Seattle played sloppy and terrible, St. Louis was ok, colts first string looked great offensive wise, atlanta's back ups look promising, and reggie bush looks like he will be as good as he was in college

It's pre-season...and early pre-season at that. The starters are playing maybe the first 1 or 2 series. Tough to gauge anything at this point
