Do you miss thumbs-up notices for your Best Answer?

I don't care about the points - I like knowing when I get props, though. I'd like to see them bring back the email-notification for a thumbs up. Your thoughts?

Agreed! A good old fashioned thumbs up definitely brightens my day!!!

Exactly! You know, once you get quite a few answers out there, people do read them. They sometimes make comments, other times they give a thumbs up (or down), sometime make a comment and give a thumbs up.

It was nice when you saw a "thumbs up", you could always click on the notification and see which question earned it and if the person left a comment.

Now... you aren't even aware that it happened!

I am glad to hear something out of Yahoo on this issue from Djibouti. I asked a similar question they day we lost the feature and everyone agreed it was the worst part of the recent changes.

When I joined up, the rating/thumb-up points system was already scrapped and I couldn't benefit from it. Heard from friends that it's a missed opportunity to amass 50 thumb-up points and 20 rating points to "help" newbies like me to move up levels.

Now it's gonna be slow to move up levels! Maybe level 7 in a year's time?

Yes, I miss the thumbs up notice, because I always wondered if

I had done good on my answers, and my advice, and it was nice to get the notices...

Gimmmeee my points back! I will never get out of level 2!

I think thumbs up/down just tick people off.

    Hey there,

You're definitely not the only one feeling this way. We're listening and you might just find that this feature makes a comeback in one way or another. I can't promise anything yet, but we're definitely thinking hard about all these issues here on the team.

    Thanks!

I am new to Yahoo answers, but I like the idea and I always give my opinion on the thumbs up or down..

Yep, really do. It meant something to both get and give a thumbs up. But again, hopefully more people will use this new system, so we can see immediate ratings for both our questions and answers. It just needs time to catch on.

Yes because of the points though, and I also miss the points you get for rating a best answer

I just miss the points. I was going through Poison Ivy's best answers and giving her thumbs ups to keep her moving up the leaderboard posthumously.

    Yes I agree
