Best desktop processor for the money?
In otherwords, what model and speed of Intel or AMD processor has the best "bang for the buck" (price / performance sweet spot). I'm looking to build a desktop computer or buy a barebones computer on a limited budget (ideally less than $100 for the processor - or you can suggest a more expensive one if the performance is worth it). The only requirement is that it supports SSE3 instructions.

Too bad you're on such a tight budget because this would rock.
Edit: The pentium D armirol mentioned would be cool if you plan on upgrading it in the future. Otherwise that Opteron would be good.
The Conroe would last you a good long time.
