Was it Bush's idea for Israel to attack Lebanons military Hizbulla? what did he have to do with it?

Most of what Israel does is in close consultation with America .... The US gives them a USD 3 billion+, and shields them from international condemnation in places like the UN.

The US wants to use Israel as it's proxy to confront Hezbollah (Iran's proxy) ..... the Israelis were kind enough to flatten South Lebanon and destroy the countries civilian infrastructure in the process.

Hezbolla is NOT Lebanon's military. Lebanon has a small army in northern Lebanon, but appearantly not enough forces to spread over the whole country. Hezbolla started this by kidnapping 2 Israeli military people, so Israel took this as an act of war. If Lebanon had army personnel in the southern part of their own country, this possibly would not have happened. As long as the legitimate Muslims countries look the other way when Hezbolla moves in the problems will escalate.

Obviously Washington and Jerusalem consult regularly, but Israel tends to do what it wants, with or without the blessing of the Bush administration. That said, the US gives Israel US$3 billion every year including military equipment. I believe a shipment of attack helicopters was expidited following Hezbollah's kidnapping of soldiers and the resulting Israeli offensive....

I seriously doubt that Bush made the suggestion to Israel that they confront Hezbollah, but I would love to see something that says so so I can understand what it's based on.

Israel has never in its 60 year history been shy about responding to a real or perceived threat with military force, and they have never (to my knowledge) asked permission of any sitting US president to do so.

I don't think Bush was at all upset with the notion of confronting a heavily armed terrorist group threatening to destabilize the region and attack one of our closest allies, but that does not in turn make him responsible for that decision.

I think that Bush puts himself as an organizer of this world within a general policy to change the strategic map of the world for the benefit of the USA; neglecting the cultural and national loyalty of others to their land. Logically speaking, this political and economical globalization won't succeed even he and his government rely on and gamble on Isreal military power.

Well lets be honest, when someone needs blaming lets all blame Bush. I don't think Isreal would do anything anybody told it to.
