Married couples?
OK so I am not a romantic or anything but is there a statute of limitations on the whole dating thing? I have been married for 10 yrs and husband and I split checking accounts a few yrs ago to show him the stress of paying the bills and getting everyone their money. Recently the husband has been buying things like tent trailers, trucks, motorcycles, rifles, a welder, you know big ticket items. But I buy everything for the home, food, basic bils, power sewer water, phone. The other day, and its not the first time, he took me out to dinner. He ASKED ME OUT, and I had to pay the bill. We went to the bar for a beer tonite and I HAD TO PAY THE BILL. what the hell. If you ask someone out aren't you supposed topay the bill. We are trying to work things out after a hard rocky patch of the relationship and this just is feeding my anger any suggestions would help.

Doesn't sound like he feels the stress of paying bills at all! I could never "split" our money, it's a marriage not a business. If you two were living together, then okay, but you are married?
Sounds like your rocky patch is not over, and if I were you I would not let it be. Don't be is "sugar mama" unless you want to be. When I was dating, who ever did the asking paid for the evening's bill.

Well.... You two do not seem to be able to work this out yourselves. Most people can... I think you need some professional help. Maybe not an actual "marriage counsellor" but at least someone who is really an expert at sorting out family finantial matters. I don't know who that would be, but I am sure there have to be people out there that specialize in that. If you go to church, try asking your priest if anybody else in the congregation is good at that sort of thing or knows someone who is.
Good luck

sounds like hes still pissed at you and hes trying to get back at you for spliting the checking accounts. I think men who play games like that are full of **** you are still married. I don't know when thing get bad for me I have to ask myself. Would I rather be right or would I rather be alone. I f you feel its more important to be right and teach a grown man a lesson.[ which seemes to me from what you wrote hes not getting the lesson] its just looks like maybe its time to call it quits
