do you read other peoples answers before answering a question on Yahoo! Answers, if so why?

I pretty much know what kind of answer I am going to give before I even click on the question. Because of that I don't take the time to read others' answers. It does't sound bad to say that you are not copying others' answers, because it's true....even if your answer is the same as what someone else has given.

I read them before I answer. I check to see if people have already given the right answer (assuming it's the type of question that has right and wrong answers, like "why is the sky blue?"). If there are already lots of correct answers, I don't bother putting mine. If there are some right and some not-so-right, I'll answer and try to explain why some of the previous answers are wrong.

If it's more of an opinion question (like yours, for example) then it depends, sometimes I'll read the answers first, sometimes I won't. I understand your point of view, though, not wanting to be swayed by others' answers.

I only read the answers first if they're established questions.

If I have something to add, I add it. If not, I don't.

Usually I'm one of the first to answer.

I don't follow the crowd, I answer how I best see fit.

I read the answers first, it's pointless to duplicate an answer. But sometimes we ring in with the same answer at the same time.

Never ! I answer it right away without reading others answers,my reason is same as yours.

I do just so I don't end up repeating something.

If the question has already been answered thoroughly there is no reason do say it again.

No I don't, I like to have my opinion first and then I compare it to others to see if were on the same wavelength.

i don't...i have my own opinion about the question and i'd like to take a stand...AFTERWARDS, i read the other answers to see who had similar answers as mine or who had different opinions...that's what i do but your way is fine too!
