There are 1.3 billion muslims in the world. 22 arab nations.

13 million total Jews on the whole planet and one tiny little nation. You wouldn't think that they'd care. Jerusalem isn't even mentioned in the Koran.

so- it must have something to do with leaders using the oldest trick in the book to maintain power. Define an enemy. It's a hell of a lot easier to motivate your people to want to kill someone different than themselves, than it is to build roads, schools, business, an economy, etc.

So- perhaps someone from the Arab world can provide a rational answer. I cannot believe that Israel would be attacking its neighbors if its arab neighbors even recognized Israel's right to exist. It's no longer fighting a war with Jordan nor Egypt. And it isn't fighting a war with Lebanon- only Hezbollah, who's sole mission is to wipe Israel and all it's jews from the face of the planet.

Funny- Israel doesn't have a mission to wipe all arabs off the face of the planet. It just doesn't teach its children that. I do feel sorry for the palestinians- they've certainly gotten the shaft. But- they're far from innocent.

Oh- and Brian- if you think Israel 'stole' the land after WWII, you need to read up on your history. It was partitioned by the british based on land where Jews were already living going to the Jews, and where arabs (there were no 'palestinians') going to the arabs. The Jews accepted the partition plan, and the arabs did not and started a war to wipe out all the Jews. It just didn't go so well for the Arabs this time. So- how do you figure that the Jews "stole' the land. Is this what you were taught by some feeble minded anti-semite?

They did take over land in 1967 in the 6-day war, and would happily give it back, if the people living there would accept the existence of Israel. They pulled out of Gaza last year and gave it back. Did the Palestinians build roads, schools and a country? No- they built a 300m tunnel to send suicide bombers into Israel. Well, they've got their priorities.

If a 'zionist' is a person who believes that Israel has a right to exist as a country, and defend itself. Lable me as such. What do you call a person who believes that Israel doesn't have a right to exist?

OK, the war right now has a lot to do with two nations fighting over a holy land that is the same for each countries religion. It is the exact same thing goiong on there as when President Bush says that Islamic people and Muslims are attacking the U.S. because they don't want a better way of life. This is untrue. They just believe that their way of life is fine but according to our standards it is not. They are the exact same thing.

Muslims in the Arab world are taught from the earliest age to hate the Jews. It is a rivalry that has been going on for centuries. it is all very primitive really.

Don't stereotype of race of people. You can't say the all Arabs want to do that. If you're interested in their conflict do some research into it instead of making a generalization.
