When someone starts telling you a story he already told you before, what do you do?
Do you tell him "yeah you already told me that" and be rude or do you act like it's the first time you hear it and be fake?
And if you decide on being fake, if he said "I think i told you this before, havent i?" what would you do??

LOL! I say - Yeah, you told me that... I even feel like I'm being rude when I say it but I can't help myself.. My A.D.D. prevents me from having the patience to hear a story twice.

It depends on how well you know the person. If you know them pretty well, just say "yea I think I've heard this one before" and remind him on the details...but if you want to be polite (not fake) and he does say that he thinks he told you...act like all of a sudden it's coming back to you: "oh yea i think you did tell me, but I don't mind hearing it again" (if its a crush, it wins you some points) ;)

Go for in between rude and fake, be polite. Listen intently, nod politely and say something like "Yeah, that's what you told me" or "I remember you had told me that. That's so funny"...or whatever might be appropriate. Hopefully he'll start paying better attention to what he's saying.

When this has happened to me.... I will tell you it depends on the person. Most times I will say "Now that you mention it, You may have told me before...but you add in more detail this time!" It's the truth.

If it's a good story, enjoy hearing it again, maybe join in. The retelling of favourite stories is important bonding.
