magicians with magic or just tricks?
There are different kinds of magic acts performed by magicians: from coin disappearing, pulling a rabbit/strips of cloth from the hat, card tricks, knot untanglement, you name it.
but what makes me wonder is people say those acts are just illusions and tricks performed by them..but how do you explain acts like levitation, disappearing of a huge object and making ashmarks on own palm but the marks also appear on the audience palm even though her fist was clenched?
are all these fake or real?

All magicians are simply trying to entertain you, to reawaken your sense of awe and wonder.
They do this by playing games with you. They make you think one thing is happeneing and something else is. They use science, psychology, acting, sheer bluff, special gadgets or machines, etc.
When a big name magician puts on a show, it can take several 18-wheelers full of machinery and stuff to make the show work. Some of these illusions can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to research, develop, and perform- but generally, the magi will make that back pretty easily showing a great illusion.
The ashes trick is a simple one you can find in most library books on magic if you want... but most of the time, if you know how the trick worked, you feel slightly cheated by it. Most of them are pretty simple in principle- but they take a lot of work to make look convincing.
It is all 'real' magic- in the sense of illusions and trickery. There are no 'magickal' forces at work.

Hi Mei Mei
I enjoyed reading your question . I am a professional magician and was in David Copperfield's show for years and since leaving that I have worked on the Space Shuttle as well as other Mega illusions for Franz Harary I can tell you as fact everything that you mentioned from ash markings to levitation's to vanishing buildings are all illusions some with very easy expalinations and some very difficult. I can not tell you how they are done as that would be bad for magic in general but a lot of the illusions have been documented in books ( like amiture magicians handbook) and dvd's Like self levitation the DVD.

Actually I am a dab hand at the old magic tricks, when as a SNCO in the military I could make the blind see, the deaf hear, the dumb talk and the lame walk, couldn't quite get the hang of walking on water or making the dead rise though. But the best trick I ever saw was a barman who could turn beer, wine and spirits into water.

it's all a show....magicians are entertainers who are quick with their hands...they can create illusions that involved science and maths....they don't really disappear or levitate...it's just a trick from certain angle of sight and light !!

some of these tricks are done by sleght of hand.Feats like levitation, and the disappearance of huge objects are mostly done before a camera;leaving the chance for camera tricks or special effects.Personally I belive in the supernatural but most of what you see on tele are done for entertainment purposes.

All fake deception involving distracting your attention from transparent wires, etc. And the audience members are planted assistants.

they are all fake they get you to believe you are seeing something that you are actually not and distract you while they do things its very complicated
