Ending an essay?
I am writing an essay comparing two books and which should be added to my school's curriculum. I have written the whole thing except the concluding paragraph. I have so far "In conclusion, [restatement of thesis]" After that, I don't know where to go to end it.
Note: I will not copy anyone's words exactly in my paper, so don't worry. I'm an honest kid.

A conclusion restates the thesis, which is basically the point you're trying to make in the paper. What are you trying to say in this paper? Then you can briefly recap your supporting arguments. The point of a conclusion is to basically show why you believe your particular point of view.

first of all, never use in conclusion in an essay. especially if its for a class anf you get graded on it. not good! I cant give you an ending because I dont have the essay here to think of one, but your conclusion should restate the thesis. Maybe not word for word, but have the main points in there. It should also leave the reader with something to really think about. Not a question exactly, but a very strong statement that will make them think over the whole essay and all your points. (for example: stating that including these books in your curriculum will greatly affect the quality and willingness to learn throughout the student body.) not a great example, but you get the point. good luck.

An easy way to end an essay is to go back to the introduction paragraph and write about something in that. So depending on what kind of "hook" you used the concluding paragraph should be similar. If you used a question, conclude the essay with how the question was answered in your previous paragraphs... if you used a story, end it... etc. Or, apply your paper to real life for the conclusion

It really depends on what the purpose of the essay is. Are you trying to make a case to have the books added, or keep them from being added? Or is it a simple comparision.
My thought is to summarize the main points of your essay in the conclusion. Basically, support your thesis.

May I suggest that you restate the thesis without the phrase "in conclusion". That is more fitting for the ending after the restatement is followed by a two or three-sentence recapitulation. Also, why not substitute "finally" instead of "in conclusion"? Say, 'between [Author's] xxx and [Author's] yyy, readability, [etc] weighs more with the former for as long as the concern is that of the learner.' A rhythmic sentence is always considered as the best "punctuative" sentence in an essay.
Hope that helped.

Reading the book instead of observing the movie is the best way to see what the writer planned. Reading uses your imagination, hones your reading skills, and can improve your vocabulary

I always just summarize my introduction and tie it to any points I have brought during the essay.
