The fact that Rich used it in his routines doesn't mean he awakened it. I am from the inner city in Milwaukee, and that is in pretty common use wherever I am.

I've heard of non-blacks using it, and sometimes to each other. It's hit or miss whether that would be accepted, so probably best avoided..
