The word you used, n*gga. in previous question.?
When i was growing up this word was considered disrespectful and we didn't use it, I raised my sons that same way. If i remember right, richard pryor shocked the world whenever he first made it popolar to use in comedy. My question is this, if this word had been left alone, never used, wouldn't it be gone by now, i mean is it now a term of disrespect or endearment?

The fact that Rich used it in his routines doesn't mean he awakened it. I am from the inner city in Milwaukee, and that is in pretty common use wherever I am.
I've heard of non-blacks using it, and sometimes to each other. It's hit or miss whether that would be accepted, so probably best avoided.. (See Richard Pryor I Ain't dead yet DVD) Eminem, who has a solid black following refuses to use it, probably cuz it would cause alot of white to use the word and wel...get hurt.
My feeling is it existed before it became know to "White Americans," the same way as black barber shops are a hangout and kind of information center before the movie Barber Shop.
