Intel SpeedStep will not install or function properly on Dell Inspiron 5150 notebook with Windows XP SP2?

My laptop, the Inspiron 5150 comes with an Intel Pentium 4 processor with built in Intel SpeedStep technology, which is enabled in the BIOS. However, after reinstalling windows, I have not been able to successfully install the SpeedStep software.

Immediately after the install finishes, if I choose not to restart then I can view the SpeedStep tab in power options, however after I restart the computer, the tab disappears and the cpu speed is stuck at 1.6Ghz (used to run at 3.2Ghz)...

Just wondering if anyone knew where to find the most recent speedstep, or if anyone else had and/or solved this problem, thanks.

You should just install it with the CD's you got. In order, or there maybe a partition on your hard drive that has the Recovery Stuff on it.
