No. When those veterans start getting sick and possible getting in the news, they'll be called "anti-American brainwashed liberals who don't know what they're talking about" just like the anti-war Vietnam veterans were called. It's sadly funny; conservatives always talk about how much they love the military yet the Republican Congress and President Bush consistently tries to lower their benefits and are stopped by...by...the evil liberals!

Remember Republicans wearing purple band-aids at the Republican National Convention, in order to mock Kerry? Does't that mock everyone who got a Purple Heart? Also, did Bush get a Purple Heart...in Texas, while avoiding even National Guard Duty? IF conservatives loved the military so much, why do they call every Democrat injured in a war, a faker, a traitor, and unhinged, when those Democrats get into politics?

These same people don't believe that we are using uranium tipped shells anyway. And the ones that do beleive it think it's okay if those "ragheads" get cancer because they're terrorists anyway. We are all so screwed.

This is simply Communist propaganda to get people to vote against the war.

DU exposure and sickness has been studyed over and over. There is absolutely nothing to this, that's why you only see it being published on Communist propaganda websites.

The most common side effect of Uranium exposure is lung cancer, common in those who actually *work* in Uranium mines. That takes years worth of exposure to the normal Uranium (not DU) for this to happen.

All of these sites like to point out the "tons of DU scattered throughout the battlefield". FYI. The Department of Health and Human Services estimates there are an average of 4 tons of uranium in the top foot of soil in every square mile of land. Again, we're not talking about Depleted Uranium, but instead this is the real stuff. That means it's 3 times more radioactive.

I had never heard about it until I read this question. I used DU rounds with my 50cal. I haven't had any noticable problems. I did a search on it and will do a little reading on it.
