Cities Offer People a wide variety of Activities'

In the given sentence: What is the Subject?: Cities

What is the Verb / predicate: Offer (transitive verb ---because it has objects)

Can you fix the Direct Object?

Yes, it is 'a wide range of activities'

Is there an Indirect Object in the Sentence?

    Yes, there is one.

    What is it?

    'PEOPLE'

Why is it called indirect object?

Because it answers 'to who' / 'to whom'

I'm gonna go with indirect object. Cities offer activities -- that makes activities the direct object. People, therefore, is the indirect object.

I am, however, willing to be wrong. It's only been, oh, forty years since I diagrammed a sentence.

'People' is an indirect object, because you are really saying offer TO people - i.e. you're not picking THEM up and offering them to someone.

it is a common noun .It means that the cities offer the people (means men, women etc.)variety of activities.

the cities don't offer crap. the are not capable of it. however, people who run the businesses in a city can offer visitors or those who live there, a wide variety of activities. am i a smart ***? don't answer that.
