Because that is the expectations that the liberal socialist have been successful in portraying. They have done well in creating the new breed of slavery who will vote for them in order to get another pittance from the government.

Because many people in this country are getting used to the fact that the government will come running.....that shouldn't be the case....this county owes me nothing except the rights that are garenteed to me in the Constitution and Bill of Rights....I work my *** off....I get so pissed when I see someone, who I know is on welfare or something, driving around a new car....and people on unemployment who are making no effort at all to find a new job, just doing the bare minium to keep getting their checks....and many americans, and people everywhere, are busting their a** just to make ends meet and refuse to ask for help....and even if they did they probly wouldn't get it anyway.

In my opinion, it's largely a question of upbringing. When I was a teacher, most of my students were just eaten up with that attitude and their parents mostly reinforced it.

For instance, most kids these days (most middle to upper class kids, anyway) are given cars as some kind of rite of passage, instead of having to work to pay the note or the insurance themselves.

Also, allowances are handouts instead of a "wage" for chores done.

Is it any wonder, then, that they grow up with their little mitts permanently stuck out? If, in fact, a person with that attitude can truly be called "grown up."

Terrorists crashed commercial jets into two 110 story office buildings, The largest office building (the Pentagon) in the world...which is also the HQ of our nations military and mailed letters laced with anthrax to media headquarters. Government policies favoring the rich have allowed Corporate giants to hold the middle class hostage for foreign gas and oil and are own President has trampled the freedoms outlined in the Constitution bystrong-arming Republician minions who control congress and forcing policy through that is subjectated by his own personnal religious beliefs ala the Muslim extremists he claims to oppose. Now tell me, do you think they are even offering us what you've asked?

because people only think about themselves instead of the nation. a prime example is iraq, cindy sheehan disgraced her sons death by "protesting" the war, yet no one cared. Yes we were sorry her son died, but it was something he believed in. Everybody wants something for nothing.

Because people are greedy and evil by nature! And they are very ungrateful, I guess they'd rather have Osma Bin Laden terrorize them lol
