Does anyone actually use "your" and "you're" correctly anymore?
I asked a question, and someone answered, saying "your gay."
I can deal with being called "gay," but the misuse of "your" in place of "you're" drives me insane!
Thanks for the vent. :-)
Have a nice day!

LOL "your gay!" "My gay WHAT?"
But I guess the way they combat having to know the difference is by using the ever-so-lovely "ur" in both cases! College students email my office using "ur" and "dat" and it takes every fiber of my being to keep me from writing corrections back to them in red.
It's a sad state of affairs, isn't it?

Your getting to picky for you're own good. Their just telling you they're opinion and all you can think about is there problems with the english language.
What's you're problem?
Well, I was trying to be creative. Yes, it does get old, and I find I have to re-read my answers because I have been known, on occasion, to put in the wrong one. But I do check. Suppose that's the difference. For me, it does matter - and I want what I type for all to see to be as right as it can be.
How many mistakes did I make in that first part anyway? I counted at least 7.

Before getting jacked up just sing this little song!
H.R. Pufnstuf who's your friend when things get rough
H.R. Pufnstuf can't do a little because you can't do enough
Once upon a summertime just a dream from yesterday
A boy and his magic golden flute heard a boat from off the bay,
Come and play with me Jimmy
Come and play with me
And I will take you on a trip far across the sea
But the boat belonged to a kooky old Witch
Who had in mind the flute to snitch
From her Vroom Broom in the sky
She watched her plans materialize
She waved her wand -- the beautiful boat was gone
The skies grew dark, the sea grew rough
And the boat sailed on and on and on and on and on and on
But Pufnstuf was watching too and knew exactly what to do
He saw the Witch's boat attack and as the boy was fighting back
He called his Rescue Racer Crew as often they'd rehearsed
And off to save the boy they flew
But who would get there first?
But now the boy had washed ashore Puff arrived to save the day
Which made the Witch so mad and sore she shook her fist and screamed away

Folks don't know the difference between Your and You're or To or Too or even Two. They think that At Least is one word and spell it as "atleast", and the same with A Lot and spell that like: "alot". Makes me CRAZY. Spelling and grammar in general is deplorable these days.

I do when it matters. But your is shorter. I hate it when I see something like flyers or something that someone went through the time and expense of printing up and they haven't even ck'd the simple stuff first. Annoying.

Seriously! Didn't we learn this in fourth grade???
The misuse of Their and There is one of my biggest pet peeves as well. Also, the use of its and it's, saying neither without the nor and using 'cuz instead of because. Ugh!

I am right there along with you! It's sooooo aggrivating! I swear I am a grammar nazi...some of my friends who can't seem to spell too well always come to me to make sure everything is correct. LOL!
Big ones that bug me:
your & you're
than & then
to & too
there, their or they're

Yes I do!!! I use them correctly all the time - it irritates the hell out of me when I don't!! I'm cut out to make it as an English teacher; I cringe every time I see those errors. lol.

Yes and it is so easy to do. 'YOUR question is quite interesting and shows that YOU'RE interested in grammar'.
It is the curse of text messages I suppose.
