Prudence, temperance, justice, and courage - are these discussed anymore? Do parents teach them? (Not to mention the Christian developments of these - how about the pagan ones?)

3 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoFor those of you of African descent...?
If someone said "the roots of Jazz come from African-American culture," would you be proud, or just note this as a fact?
Similarly, if someone said, "the greatest percentage by population of unwed mothers is among African-Americans." would you be angry, or just note this as a fact?
Is there a difference? If there is, I am curious as to why.

3 AnswersMusic1 decade agoOkay..does anyone else have this pet peeve?
I asked the other day about "your" and "you're" misuse - my newest pet peeve - "ur" for "your" - AUGH!
Sorry - thanks for the vent. Have a good (and hopefully three-day) weekend!

14 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoDoes anyone actually use "your" and "you're" correctly anymore?
I asked a question, and someone answered, saying "your gay."
I can deal with being called "gay," but the misuse of "your" in place of "you're" drives me insane!
Thanks for the vent. :-)
Have a nice day!

1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy do you cling to your possessions?
Let them go! Do you really want them, or do you want the feeling of ownership? Do you want the feeling of having more than another, to be made happy by things seemingly permanent?
You know deep down that they stand in the way of your becoming truly human. Why then do you cling? Release them, give them away, possess only what you need to climb to true humanity.
