Cornered by a car?

I am asking about the right vocabulary for the following situation. When I am driving a car in the street, suddenly another car is trying to overtake me. But when that car is beside me, it comes nearer my car so that the distance between that car and my car is closer. What do you say for this situation? Is that car 'cornering' mine? What word should I use?

more appropriate than "cutting off", the other car was trying to "side swipe" your car. cutting one off is if the car comes from nowhere, runs in front of you, forcing you to make a sudden stop or your forced to veer to either the left or right. if he's very close to your side and not in front, then that's more of side swiping.
