You need to say who the manufacturer is. Griswold is higher than Wagner, etc.

Megan, I am assuming that you are talking about a Camp Dutch oven with leg gs and a flat lid. If that is indeed what you have you can use them on gas stoves, electric stoves do not put out enough heat to cook above the element. You can also use them in your oven in the house, just rotate the Dutch oven so that the legs fit through the baking rack in the oven. If you have a flat bottomed Dutch oven without legs then it can be used on the stove or in the oven quite easily. I have written 2 cook books on Dutch oven cooking and they are both geared towards outdoor cooking like the rest of the rest of the Dutch oven cook books out there. I put the degrees necessary to cook foods in the Dutch oven as well as other info needed to cook outdoors as well as indoors. You can email me if you'd like more info about the books or any other questions. I teach Dutch oven cooking all over California, Nevada, and Oregon. There are many other people who teach all over the U.S. Good Luck to you. BTW, use your Betty Crocker cook book and use the Dutch oven to cook your food. Just cover the Dutch oven with the lid and set the oven to the desired temperature you need. Good Luck!

The dollar value may not be very high - you can buy new ones for around $10-15, I think, depending on the size. They are very useful for outdoor cooking, though, and it might have f sentimental value if it's been in the family for awhile. If you just want to get rid of it, ask a local Boy Scout. Girl Scout, or 4H office if they have a unit that would want it.

oh,... about a a few bucks,... why do yah wanna know?
Seriously, used won't get you much. Coz Dutch Ovens are usually made pretty sturdy, they last a long long time. I'm sorry there are a lot of them out there.
The only ones that cost a lot are the ones that are new, at the specialty cookware and camping stores.

If it's clean and undamaged and the name of the manufacturer is Griswold, it can be worth a hundred dollars to a hundred and a half to a collector. Look on e-bay for a month to see items of similar size and shape by that manufacturer and see which prices grab the most attention. That'll help you put a value on yours. If you choose to sell, e-bay is a pretty good place to do it, too.

it depends on how old is very old, cast iron cook ware has been around for several centuries and is still made yet today so what you may think is very old may only be 10 to 2 yrs old and have a value of about 10 to 15 dollars depending on condition.

not much. infact, we had one that was antique and it was not worth anymore than that of a new one....
ours was even enamled (light green) on the outside/white on the inside).
i have since then sent it off to be resurfaced (had pitting on bottom) so we had to season it really well.
the only value that ours has is that it was my husbands grandma's and that says more than any dollar amount!

Minimal .. you can go to secondhand stores and find that they are plentiful.
