Bread Machines?

I'm in the market for a new bread machine. I've heard good things about the Zojirushi, but it's expensive and I've heard it's not easy to clean. Is that machine worth it? Is there another brand you'd recommend? I don't plan on making meatloaf (grin) in it, and I probably won't do a lot of whole wheat receipes.

Update:

I own a bread machine now and use it about once a week, but it's outdated and so old you can hear the motor whine when it kneads.

My coworker owns a Zojirushi. She loved to use it but it does take forever to clean. She tends to make sourdough breads more than whole wheat. It did take her forever to learn how to use it though.. trial and error. She had never had a bread machine like you. I would suggest starting with something generally easy and moderatly priced. (save the rest of hat money for a cuisinart!)

Bread machines are like treadmills, everybody is convinced that they will use one all the time before they buy it. Then they use it once put it in the closet and pull it out once a year. If you want something more useful that makes far better bread invest in one of these:

Just get a basic one...GE, ROYAL, to start. If you love it and use it all the time upgrade...I use mine a fair bit and it make great bread and it wasn't a costly one at all.

Stick with the old one as long as you can. The modern ones are crap.
