Does anyone know more about FDA ok-ing frozen food distributors putting viruses in cooked products&lunchmeats.
I read this article about a week ago.It stated that the FDA oK`ed this process of putting viruses in packaged products of cooked frozen foods.It was on page 8 someplace.It did not sound to refreshing to hear that.It immediately turned me off of lunchmeat.If you know more about this please let us know.

I read the same story and yes the FDA has approved a virus to be added to meats. AND....it will not have to appear on the food label. I may go vegitarian over this issue!

I dont know what journal you read this in... but being in the drug safety industry and working very closely with the FDA daily reporting Adverse Effects related to our marketed drugs, I can say with certainty that this is not the case... the FDA is very specific and stringent in what they allow to go into things... but I could swear also that the USDA is in charge of Meat, not the FDA... while they work closely, I think the USDA is the department involved in what is known in the industry as "QA/QC" quality assurance/q. control....
This isnt the case, viruses are harmful and would not be allowed into meats on purpose.... PERHAPS you are thinking of some kinds of bacteria however... which MAY be allowed to be added to your meats to allow persevation, or whatever... Some bacteria is necessary for our stomach's to perform correctly, L. Acidophilus, certain types of E. Coli... etc... but why they would be in meats I do not know.. you find them mostly in yogurts and things of that nature.
Id double check the facts about Viruses, pretty sure thats false!
