Why don't more people have Yahoo! 360° pages?

And if they(you) do, why don't more of them(you) link to their(your) Yahoo! 360° pages in their(your) Yahoo! Answers profiles?

[I can't sleep, so I have been toying with Yahoo! Answers for the past few hours, only to be disappointed whenever I click on someone who's posted an interesting question or answer to find... Nothing... More... About... Them(You)...???]

Update:

Interesting answers so far.

I just can't get into MySpace, partly because of the mid-90's GeoCities look and feel of it, and also because of all the youngsters (and the creeps who stalk them, ugh).

I was happy to find that Yahoo! -- one of the first sites I used when I first got online 10 years ago -- had introduced a networking option. I'm curious to find out why more people haven't started using it.

Keep the answers coming! Thanks!

It does look like a hassle to set one up. Besides, if someone is interested in who I am because of a particular answer, they can still look at the questions I've asked and the answers I've given and get a better idea that way.

The profiles I've read/seen sound like they were written by high school yearbook members. (I didn't look at yours--sorry I should have before I started writing. This comment wasn't directed at you!) Sometimes the people on here are older or have less time to spend on it because of other obligations so they want to answer the questions they're interested in and get on with their lives.

Other people prefer anonymity because they're shy or they're afraid friends and family would make fun of them if they knew they spent time on Yahoo Answers--especially in certain categories. Others just like mystery of it all. Who knows, maybe they see themselves as a wise old sage sitting in a darkened room, enlightening the masses.

Maybe some people just don't think they're interesting enough that other people would care to know about them.

    I wondered this myself.

First, I didn't know about Answers when I was "invited to 360" by a friend who thought 360 was easier to use than other blog systems (I use Blogger and do professional web pages and I personally find Yahoo things rather convoluted, stilted and buggy). So I set up a 360 just to humor her, but nothing was there. My friend wanted to see if some of her other friends would join 360. Most opted out cos they couldn't figure out the Yahoo system - several later got Blogger accounts.

Then I found Answers... I noted that Answers could be connected to 360, and noted that many people that are good Answerers preferred to keep their profiles private or don't set one up. I didn't link up at first while trying to figure out __why others didn't__, but turns out some prefer to be incognito or don't think their 360 pages would be interesting.

I linked up but I have have no time to develop a 360 page. I just link it up so that people that do want to see a little more can do that.

Bottomline: It's like a humongous digital Winchester Mystery house! I think Yahoo things have not been organized with an optimal master plan of any sort so it is rather chaotic and most people don't have time or motivation to swim through it all and figure it out.

The reason... they didn't had link on Y! Answer to link to Y! 360 is because some people having trouble to put link on here...

They didn't know that they need to change their setting on Y! Answer profile... to link to Y! 360 and they mistook that the setting is on the Y! 360... But actually the setting is on Y! Answer profile...

And also another reason is that they do not want their Y! 360 link to be shown on their Y! Answer proflie...

I will not let U disappointed... U will be able to view my Y! 360 on my Y! Answer profile...LOL

And presently... I also lookiing for feedback for my Y! 360... So far only four person had answer on my Y! Question... U might try answer it after viewing my Y! 360... Thanks...

I looked into setting one up, but it looks kinda complicated and I don't really have the energy to figure it out. With MySpace and FaceBook and LiveJournal, there's so many of these blog sites, it's hard to maintain them all. Also, I would rather people talk to me in person and ask me things than just read about me to get to know me.

I have one and I linked it. I prefer Yahoo 360 over MySpace (too many kids) and Facebook, although I also use Friendster as well.

I don't have it because I find it pointless.

I can have my weblog, my personal homepage... and can make use of other tools if I need to transmit a message or seek communication with others.

Yahoo is always some steps back from Google and MSN .. And they seem to try to eliminate the gap with some sort of new stuff which in fact serves no real purpose.

Yahoo 360 degress is just one of them, useless tools.

I don't even know what Yahoo! 360° IS. I should probably look into that.

I find it pointless... I already have MySpace and Friendster, those 2 are enough.
