May be it is due to natural creative programming .Men always have to work with their minds and brains as a natural process of creation and women have to support their creative desires with their bellies and bear the laborious weight and pain of family raising and management. Recent scientific studies have revealed the brain programmings regarding their natural multiplexing actions and managerial capabilities. Similar programme to support growing uterine weight during advancing months of pregnancy by crossing legs might be the cause of such a generalized behaviour.

crossing legs is suppose to be a signal that a woman is not interested. but it is natural and taught to girls as the "lady like" thing to do. So in modern cases you may still approach a woman with her legs crossed and she wont shoot you down. or she may not. depends on you.
