Absolutely. You can learn from my mistake... Ignore the pre-diabetic signs and continue your lifestyle and you will become diabetic. Read this and learn all you can before it's too late:

For type I and type II diabetics (and those who are overweight and could potentially become diabetic). Copy and bookmark the webpages I‘ve listed below… they are invaluable for those with diabetes and/or weight problems...

I've found a wonderful book that will help you control your diabetes and minimize or even eliminate the complications. Some folks who became diabetic due to poor diet and obesity are effectively cured by following the advice in this book. I'm a type II (inherited), but it helps all types, especially those who became diabetic due to poor eating habits. It's by an author who has really done his homework, Patrick Quillin, Phd. It's called, "The Diabetes Improvement Program". I have tried his suggestions and found them to be very helpful. I have no complications whatsoever and my blood sugar levels are quite stable. Yes, I still have to take Metformin (Glucophage) daily, but it's the minimum dosage (500mg) and I only have to take it twice a day. I have been off Metformin for as much as a week, but this was with vigorous exercise. Many, what I call, non-hereditary type IIs (those that don't have a close relative who had it) have gotten off medication completely, just with diet, exercise, and supplements. So, in some instances, it most certainly can be 'effectively' cured. Read more about it here:

The book explains what's going on in our system and what to do about it. It's really easy and inexpensive. It's basically diet, supplements, and exercise. For example, did you know that cinnamon helps blood sugar absorption? It also controls cholesterol and triglycerides. This is according to the USDA:

For men: Are you suffering from erectile dysfunction? I was. Yes, WAS. Now that everything's under control, I'm able to have nearly normal sex again. I've also put together a little webpage highlighting some of the things I've learned here:

Forget anything you have ever been told about Diabetes.

And get this - it has nothing to do with insulin, exercise, diet or anything else you've heard in the past. It's all based on latest breakthrough research that Big Pharma is going Stir Crazy to hide from you.

Yes I had an awaking being pregnant with my daughter I had gestational diabetes and I had to go through everything that diabetics do. Poked my fingers tested my blood 4 times a day. I was on a strict diet and at times I would be in tears because I was so frustrated that I couldnt eat anything I was used to. The fear of going to every doctor visit wondering if it was getting worse. Diabetes is very serious there is no going back once its full blown. I am lucky I am showing no signs in my blood of it now but I know I have the chance of it coming back when I'm older.

You should take Prediabetes very seriously. At this stage your body is producing lots of insulin and at the same time it's becoming more resistant to it. After a while you'll become so resistant to your bodies own resistance that your blood glucose (sugar) will stay elevated because your pancreas is pumping out as much insulin as it possibly can. The fasting glucose and glucose tolerance tests were revised because studies show that diabetes starts long before it's officially diagnosed and the sooner someone is diagnosed the better chance of avoiding complications. Many people are diagnosed BECAUSE of complications. Those same studies suggest that damage to your body is taking place during the prediabetes stage. So absolutely, you should worry. The treatment is simple...lose and maintain a healthy weight by making lifestyle changes that include exercise...EXERCISE is the best medicine!

Yes, certainly. It's a wake up call that weight needs to be shed and lifestyle changes (e.g. exercise, diet) need to be implemented. Most Type II diabetics have no business being on medication, they could easily avoid taking pills if they just took better care of their bodies...

Prediabetes is a name tagged onto a collection of conditions. It is characterized by central obesity-a pot belly, high triglycerides, too much cholesteral in the blood and too little of the good kind of cholesterol (HDL). If left uncorrected, it can lead to heart attacks and diabetes.

There are a number of ways of eliminating the central obesity. The simple method is to cut out all the flour and sugar from your diet. That means no pasta, no pastries and no bread.

A more effective method is the South Beach diet. You can get the book at any bookstore. You can also look it up online with any search engine. Below is the official South Beach website.
