    Their child's one side will be a hippo's and other will be a elephant's.

    the female would have to be the hippo or else it would not be able to mate. dude anything is possible nowadays, ( guys becoming girls, girls becoming guys )

    I'm not sure if an hyppotamus is an animal, so no I don't think they could have babies
